SIGN BIT
In computer science the 'sign bit' is the bit in a computer numbering format which indicates the sign of the number. Typically the bit is the most significant bit in the format. Typically if the sign bit is '1' the number is negative (in the case of two's complement integers) or non-positive (for the case of ones' complement integers, sign-magnitude integers, and floating point numbers). Typically if the sign bit is '0' the number is positive.
