town located in
Ōita District,
Ōita,
Japan. On
October 1,
2005, Shōnai merged with the towns of
Hasama and
Yufuin, Ōita to form the city of
Yufu.
As of
2003, the town had an estimated
population of 9,243 and the
density of 65.88 persons per
km². The total area was 140.29 km².
