SHELLMOUTH RESERVOIR
The 'Shellmouth Reservoir' () in Manitoba, Canada near the border with Saskatchewan was completed in 1972 as part of a diversion project to prevent flooding of the Red River Valley. It cost $10.8 million. The dam is 70 feet high and 4,200 feet long. The reservoir is 35 miles in length and has a 390,000 acre-foot (480,000,000 m³) storage capacity.
The reservoir is also known by the name "Lake of the Prairies".
