SARDAR VALLABHBHAI PATEL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

'Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport' is the seventh busiest airport in india with an average 100 aircraft movements a day. It services the metropolitan area of the city of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. It is named after statesman and former Deputy Prime Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The airport is served by three International carriers and various domestic carriers. It also serves as a secondary hub for SpiceJet, Air Deccan and Kingfisher Airlines.
The airport consists of the International Terminal and the Domestic Terminals. These terminals use the same airside facilities but are physically separated on the landside, requiring a 5 minute drive between them. The airport has 7 parking bays and another 30 are under construction.
Currently the airport is undergoing massive renovation on both the domestic and the international terminals. A new domestic departure terminal was opened last december and a new domestic arrival terminal is in construction. On completion of these terminals there would be aero-bridges that would provide direct access to the aircraft from the terminal.
