'Rumble on the Rock' is a series of mixed martial arts events held in Hawaii by Rumble World Entertainment. This promotion, started in 2002, is known best for featuring a lightweight superfight between top-ranked lightweights B.J. Penn and Takanori Gomi, both of whom went on to capture championships with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and PRIDE Fighting Championships respectively.
Rumble World Entertainment is headed by J.D. Penn, brother of B.J. Penn. [1] The company joined the World Wide Cage Network of MMA promotions in October 2006. [2]
The current Rumble on the Rock Welterweight (175 lb) World Champion is American fighter Jake Shields.
