 | 2007 Allen Eagles vs Rowlett Eagles TX HS Football Playoffs This is the First Round playoff game between the Allen Eagles (Dark Uniforms) and the Rowlett Eagles (White Uniforms) at Texas Stadium on November 17, 2007. Allen came in with a 10-0 record and District 9-5A Championship. Rowlett came in with a 5-5 record and the 4th playoff team from District 10-5A. Rowlett Coaches had a great offensive scheme to take advantage of the Allen defense and took advantage by jumping out to a 28-0 lead in the first half. Rowlett made several key interceptions with the defense running one back for another touchdown. The Rowlett defense added a safety to the mix to bring their scoring total to 37. Allen Starting QB Soph. Matt Brown was having a very bad day and Sr. Carlyle Aguren stepped in to rally the team. Allen started their offensive comeback in the 2nd quarter behind Aguren's leadership. The Allen Defense stepped up in the second half and kept Rowlett from scoring again. Unfortunately the damage was done and Allen fell short with a missed field goal and several extra points, they were only able to put up 32 points. My hats off to the entire Allen Eagle team this year. It was a great and exciting run. A special thanks go to the Seniors of 2008. Regardless of how this season ended you guys played tough and led the way for the rest of the team. All of the Allen fans are very proud of you. Instead of spending time looking back, being bitter, and trying to find blame, look forward to where you're going. This has been a fun year for me as well. Thanks for providing so much great material to work with. |
