ROUTE 4 (JAPAN)


is a major highway in eastern HonshÅ«, Japan. The longest of the ordinary highways in Japan, it originates in Chuo-ku, Tokyo and stretches north for 743.7 km to the city of Aomori in Aomori Prefecture. From Saitama Prefecture to Iwate Prefecture, it parallels the TÅhoku Expressway; from Iwate to Aomori Prefecture, it parallels the Hachinohe Expressway. At its northern terminus, it links with Route 7.
