The 'River Deben' is a medium length river in Suffolk rising in Debenham, down to an estuary at Felixstowe, passing through Woodbridge and many smaller villages.
There are many yacht and dinghy clubs on the river Deben. These include the Deben Yacht Club, the Waldringfield Club, Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club and the cruising club.
The Deben Estuary is a statutory Special Protection Area for wildfowl and other wild life.
