RICHARD PAKENHAM

Sir 'Richard Pakenham' (1797 – 1868) was a British diplomat.
The son of Sir Thomas Pakenham, of Trinity College, Dublin, he was Minister Plenipotentiary to Mexico from 1835 to 1843, to the United States from 1843-7, and at Lisbon from 1851-5. He was appointed a Privy Counsellor in 1843.
In 1845-6 he was involved in negotiating the Oregon Treaty.
