 | FFXII - Vaan Solo : Gnoma Entite Pre-Palace (Part 1 of 4) Thanks for reading that video description. First, the purpose of the video (4 parts) is to show how to beat the Gnoma Entite with Vaan Solo and before Palace of Rabanaster events. Secondly, before someone tell me that my game is not Pre-Palace, I want to precise that I took a save after Barheim but with Vaan alone. Of course, I used ONLY things which are available BEFORE Palace, that is to say : 1. I didn't use gambits 2. I didn't use shell spell 3. The only spell I used is 'Cure' 4. The only technic I used is 'Libra' 5. The equipement I used is the following : - Burning bow (very rare drop from Dive Talon) - Onion arrows - Bone helm (very rare drop from Wild Saurian) - Traveller's Vestment (available via the Bazaar, see after) - Battle harness (buyable at the merchand in Nebra's village) AND Rose Corsage (buyable at the merchand who's just before Ogir Yensa sandsea) During the entire battle, I used 68 Hi-potions which are buyable at the Clan Shop after having killed 2 marks and I used 5 X-potions which are available via the Bazaar. Let's have a look on the Bazaar : Potions package (30 potions, 20 Hi-potions, 10 X-potions) : Sell 3 Screamroot. Screamroot is the only steal you can perform on the rare monster Ripe Rampager (Dalmasca Estersand - Yardang Labyrinth). Traveller's Vestment : Sell 5 Water Stone, 2 Braid Wool (common drop from rare monster Greeden : Dalmasca Estersand - Banks of the Nebra), 2 Tanned Hide I think that's almost all about the preparation of the battle. Just be sure you have some alarm clock in your stock because you'll need some... Be sure you do the CET well too (Change Equipment Trick) in order to avoid the waiting time between 2 commands. Now, I'm going to explain the strategy itself... The attack pattern is the following : Vaan is shoots Gnoma with the Burning bow+Onion arrows while Gnoma uses an attack spell (firaga, thundaga or blizzaga). Vaan is wearing the Battle harness. After the magic hurted Vaan, switch his accessory and put the Rose Corsage. Then begin to cast the cure spell but avoid this command immediately by using a Hi-potion while Gnoma readies silencega. Use the CET and use a second Hi-potion. Then you can attack again with Vaan and continue the loop. Be sure that Vaan is always under libra. Then Gnoma will ready dispel sometimes and when he does, put libra on Vaan again instantly (for the next dispel). The strongest attack of Gnoma is defintely his Sleepga since I got 2 game over because of that spell. Indeed, if your Vaan sleep you won't be able to wake up because Gnoma uses magic attacks and no character can use an alarm clock. However, there is a solution : when you see that Gnoma readies sleepga, be careful. When you hear the sound of the spell (actually just the very beginning of the sound), use immediately an alarm clock (use CET if Vaan is doing something) by the way Vaan will throw the alarm clock just before being under sleep status. Then the alarm clock will cure Vaan's sleep since there's a little time between item use and it's action. This part is not easy at all so be very careful!! If Gnoma uses Fear too much and you run out of MP, just use 1 or 2 ethers (you an get some ethers in chests in Giza or Dalmasca Westersand). At the end of the battle (when Gnoma reaches 20% of his life), Gnoma gains 0 CT for his magics that is to say he'll be able to use instant magics. Then the fight will become far more difficult. There are some differences : when you use the 'cure' spell in order to lurre Gnoma you'll now have to wait for the spell being effectively casted (or almost). Cause if you don't do that, Gnoma will just continue to use his normal magic attacks. You won't be able to attack as much as in the beginning of the battle then don't panic and just be more patient. If the situation becomes too critical, use a X-potions to recover all (or almost) your HP. I think that's almost everything you should know about this battle.
