REGIONAL DISTRICT OF MOUNT WADDINGTON, BRITISH COLUMBIA


'Mount Waddington' is a Regional District in British Columbia. It lies partially on the central coast of mainland British Columbia and partially on the northern part of Vancouver Island. It has a total land area of 20,288.4 km² (7,833.4 sq mi) and a 2001 census population of 13,111 persons. The administrative center is in the town of Port McNeill. Other important municipalities include the district municipality of Port Hardy and the village of Port Alice. It includes of the highest volcano in Canada, which is Mount Silverthrone, located in the remote Ha-Iltzuk Icefield.
