'Reed Hadley' (

1974) was an
American movie,
television and
radio actor.
Reed Hadley was born 'Reed Herring' in
Petrolia, Texas to James Grey Herring and his wife Abigail Reed Peters; Reed was an only child living in a
small in town in
Texas.
Throughout his thirty-five-year career in film, he was
typecast as both a villain and a hero of the law. With his bass voice, he has also done voice over for
documentaries. He starred on three television shows:
Racket Squad (1950-1953) &
Public Defender (1953-1954). He also worked on the
Red Ryder radio show during the 1940's. In films,among other things, he starred as Zorro in the 1939 serial
Zorro's Fighting Legion. According to imdb, his alternate name is 'Reed Bert Hadley'.
He was the host for a film, called "Operation Ivy", about the first hyrdogen bomb test,
Ivy Mike, produced by Lookout Mountain studios. The film was originally intended for internal military use, but has been "sanitized", edited, and de-classified, and is now available to the public.
Reed Hadley died on
December 11th 1974 in
Los Angeles, California, according to
imdb.com he had died from a
heart attack. He was aged 63 at the time of his death. His burial ground area is unknown, probably in
Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale.
