QATAR NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

The 'Qatar national football team' is the national team of Qatar and is controlled by the Qatar Football Association. It has never qualified for the World Cup, but its Under-20 team finished second at the World Youth Championship in 1981, losing in the finals to West Germany. Qatar won the gold medal of the 15th Asian Games Football tournament. Qatar won the Gulf Cup of Nations in 1992 and in 2006, being the host nation each time.
