One Piece - Breaking The Habit
here is my new vid with the song braking the habit by linkin park. i got the song on my head by a kingdom hearts vid with this song. the reason why i put in all this songs txt is because i love to sing and i don,t know really how the songs text is so i plant them here with lyrics. Lyrics : Memories consume Like opening the wound I'm picking me apart again You all assume I'm safe here in my room Unless I try to start again I don't want to be the one The battles always choose 'Cause inside I realize That I'm the one confused I don't know what's worth fighting for Or why I have to scream I don't know why I instigate And say what I don't mean I don't know how I got this way I know it's not alright So I'm breaking the habit I'm breaking the habit tonight Clutching my cure I tightly lock the door I try to catch my breath again I hurt much more Than anytime before I had no options left again I don't want to be the one The battles always choose 'Cause inside I realize That I'm the one confused I don't know what's worth fighting for Or why I have to scream I don't know why I instigate And say what I don't mean I don't know how I got this way I'll never be alright So I'm breaking the habit I'm breaking the habit tonight I'll paint it on the walls 'Cause I'm the one that falls I'll never fight again And this is how it ends I don't know what's worth fighting for Or why I have to scream But now I have some clarity To show you what I mean I don't know how I got this way I'll never be alright So I'm breaking the habit I'm breaking the habit I'm breaking the habit tonight

Obama gives the "vafangu" to a Corning plant
In an effort to debunk Internet rumors that Obama flipped the bird during a recent speech (like he would in front of 15,000 people - come on), I watched several Obama speeches on YouTube to see if he has a habit of touching his face while speaking. Guess what? He touches his face all the time. Surprise! I did get a kick out of this one clip where it looks, when I put it in slow motion, and if you're an idiot, like Obama is giving the Italian-bird while talking about a Corning plant. Why does Obama hate Corningware?
Roadkill
Roadkill, roadkill Let's run over rabbits, Bloody road, bloody street Let's make it a habit, Squash 'em dead Bring their heads And plant it in your garden, It might be slow But let them grow And make them beg your pardon, 1, 2, 3 You chop down the rabbit-head tree, 4, 5, 6 You bake it in your chocolate mix, Roadkill, roadkill Let's run over rabbits, Bloody road, bloody street Let's make it a habit, As far as I know As bunnies go We don't know What sounds they make, But I know What you'll say When you find them In your chocolate cake.
Dandelion Radio
Origin of the name: The English name dandelion is a corruption of the French dent de lion meaning "lion's tooth", referring to the coarsely-toothed leaves. The names of the plant have the same meaning in several other European languages, such as Italian 'dente di leone', Spanish 'diente de león', Portuguese 'dente-de-leão', Norwegian 'Løvetann', and German 'Löwenzahn'. In modern French the plant is named 'pissenlit', which means "urinate in bed", apparently referring to its diuretic properties. Likewise, "pissabeds" is an English folkname for this plant, 'piscialletto' in Italian and in Spanish it is known as the 'meacamas'. Also, in the dialect of Veneto, Italy, it is known as 'pisacan', which translates to "dog pisses", referring to how common they are found at the side of pavements, and in the dialect of Novara, Italy, it is known as 'soffione', which translates to "blowing", and refers to the habit of blowing the seeds from the stalk. Likewise, in Polish it is called "dmuchawiec" which comes from "dmuchać", "to blow". In Turkish the dandelion is called 'karahindiba' meaning "black endive". Hungarian names are 'kutyatej' ("dog milk", referring to the white sap found in the stem) and 'gyermekláncfű' ("child's chain grass", referring to the habit of children to pick dandelions, remove the flowers, and make links out of the stems by "plugging" the narrow top end of the stem into the wider bottom end). The Lithuanian name 'kiaulpienė' can be translated as "sow Sonchus" (because plant Sonchus that has white sap also in Lithuanian is 'pienė' (from pienas "milk)) or "sow milk". In Finnish it is called 'voikukka' ("butter flower") referring to its buttery colour. In Swedish it is called 'maskros' ("worm rose"), likely referring to its low status (being mostly considered a weed) despite a fairly pleasant appearance. The song is called 'Polyhedron Radio'. Made with Mario Paint.
pruning the Bramley
Sorry about the wind noise, it gets better as the video goes on. Stephen Hayes of Fruitwise Heritage Apples advises on pruning the Bramley apple and other apple trees with a similar habit of growth (vigorous, triploid, tip bearer). Part 1, in part 2 the actual pruning will be demonstrated. Bramley is a large, heavy-cropping 'cooking' apple, very popular in Britain for baking (hollow out centre, fill with soft brown sugar, sherry and sultanas, bake in medium for 1 hour) making apple sauce, apple crumble and all sorts of apple cookery where a frothy apple is required. As I have mentioned, it is not the only cooker and should not necesarily be the first choice due to it's size and the way it grows. A common mistake is to plant a Bramley on a medium or large rootstock in a small garden, find it is growing too strongly for the espace available, and to attempt to restrict the size of the tree by pruning back the leaders. This usually ends badly! The fruit comes mainly on the tips, unlike most aples which fruit mainly on spurs. If you plant a Bramley apple in a small garden, I reccomend the ultra-dwarfing rootstock M27 (NOT M26-that's MUCH bigger) or M9. If you have plenty of space, a Bramley on regular rootstock such as MM106 or MM111 can make a huge standard tree requiring little care and big enough to sit in the shade of and hang a swing from. These tutorials are about the practical management of fruiting tres on the assumption you want to get the most fruit from them. Please note, the tree in the video would be twice the size if it wasn't in very light sandy soil. We have some other Bramleys on MM106 stock in better soil which are much bigger although 2 years younger.
FloraVlog #2: New Wax Begonias
Begonia, Wax The waxy, succulent leaves and colorful flowers of the popular wax begonia (Begonia semperflorens-cultorum) are familiar to beginning and experienced yardeners alike. Adaptable and forgiving plants, they combine a neat, compact habit, attractive flowers and foliage, and trouble-free cultural requirements. They are especially valued because they will give you a long season of blooms while growing in part shade; even in deep shade with fewer blooms. Wax Begonias are ideal for beds, borders, or containers in sun or shade and are commonly used as edging plants or massed in groups. They also make very satisfactory houselants, bringing color to your home in the dead of winter. A similar plant the Tuberous Begonia is found in the bulb section of Yardener's Helper. Size - These plants will grow from 6 to 12 inches tall with a spread of 6 to 12 inches depending on the variety and growing conditions. Blossoms - Wax begonias can have pink, white, or red flowers, and blooms may be single or double. If you look closely, you will notice that they bear two kinds of flowers on each plant; male blooms sport a bright tuft or yellow pollen at the center, and female flowers have a three-sided ovary behind the petals. The flowers, which have no scent, are about 1 inch across and appear from early summer continuously through to fall frost. Foliage - Leaves are heart shaped, shiny, and succulent and usually 2 to 4 inches long. The foliage may be bright green, bronzy green, maroon, or variegated with green and white. Container Gardening - Begonias take to containers very well. Outdoors, they are staples in window boxes and patio planters.
Cyclamen and Hellebores at Honeyhill Farms
A winter visit to Audrey and Jim Metcalfe of Honeyhill Farms is a delight. Known for their hellebores, they probably have more than any other growing I know of. You'll find shades of deep purple (almost black), pink, white, yellow, singles and doubles; they have it all. Best of all, many are growing in the ground and so you can see exactly what the growth habit is. They also have some wonderful beds of blooming cyclamen. This is a great plant for winter color and deserves to be better known.
Lab-grown meat
Go Vegan Radio's Bob Linden interviews Nicole Matthews, campaign co-ordinator of PETA's Kentucky Fried Cruelty Campaign. Nicole speaks about a one million dollar reward being offered by PETA to the first scientist who can create, and bring to market, a commercially successful "chicken flesh" than can be grown in a laboratory. She describes some of the suffering endured by chickens and other animals and how lab-grown meat (also known as in-vitro meat) eliminates this cruelty. Reference is made in the interview to the fact that, despite this drive to produce lab-grown meat, a meat-free, plant-based vegan diet is the most healthy option for humans. Comments Nicole: "We've discovered that you can kick the meat habit and feel better about yourself inside and out but considering that meat-eaters are routinely consuming flesh contaminated with faeces, drugs, bacteria, we imagine that once they get used to the idea - like switching from dissecting a frog to using a sophisticated computer model - they'll be more than happy to eat meat created in a laboratory."
