'Phenprocoumon' is an
anticoagulant, functioning as a
Vitamin K antagonist. It is a derivative of
coumarin and is also marketed under the brand name Marcoumar. It is a
vitamin K antagonist that inhibits coagulation by blocking synthesis of
coagulation factors II, VII, IX and X. It is used for the
prophylaxis and treatment of thromboembolic disorders.
It is marketed as Marcoumar by
Roche.
