'Peter Taylor' born

North Yorkshire is a
British journalist and
documentary-maker who had covered for many years the political and armed conflict in Northern Ireland, the so-called
Troubles. From his experience he has written and produced
books and
television documentaries on the Northern Irish conflict.
Biography
Taylor has written three related books on the
Troubles called, '''Provos: The IRA and Sinn Féin''', '''Loyalists''', and '''Brits: The War against the IRA'''.
These books each deal with the Northern Irish conflict from the perspective of one of the the three main elements involved: the Provisional IRA and its political wing, Sinn Féin; the various Loyalist paramilitaries and their political wings; and the British government together with the British security forces' presence as it was organized and maintained in Northern Ireland to combat terrorism. These books give some insight and understanding of all the main groups involved and the events that occurred throughout this turbulent period in British-Irish history. Taylor's books feature interviews with people connected to some of the more significant incidents and important occurrences in Northern Ireland during this time.
