POPE PETER II OF ALEXANDRIA

'Pope Peter II of Alexandria' served as Pope of Alexandria (head of the church that became the Coptic Church and the Orthodox Church of Alexandria) between 373 and 380. He is commemorated in the Coptic Synaxarion on the 20th day of Amshir.
He was described as a zealous bishop[1]
During his papacey Peter II was obliged for a while to seek refuge to Rome from the persecuting Arians ;History of the Patriarchs of Alexandria notes that Pope Peter II had many troubles caused by a man named Lucius, who was appointed by the scribe Palladius, without authority from the prince. But after some time the matter reached the prince, and he despatched an officer who seized Lucius and Palladius the scribe, and sent them both into banishment; and they remained in exile until they died. , also that Peter II died on the 20th of Amshir.[2]
In Rome Peter II was received by Pope Damasus I; who sympathised with him and gave him support against the Arians.[3]
