OWEN PARIS


Vice Admiral 'Owen Paris', first portrayed by Warren Munson and then by Richard Herd, is a fictional Starfleet officer who appears in the '' episodes "Persistence of Vision", "Thirty Days", "Pathfinder", "Inside Man", "Author, Author", and the series finale, "Endgame".
He is the father of USS ''Voyager'' helmsman Tom Paris and grandfather to Miral Paris. A demanding taskmaster, he and his son had a tortured relationship ever since Tom was a child. Admiral Paris was fond of lecturing about the Prime Directive, which he considered one of the leading principles of space exploration.
Kathryn Janeway served under Paris on the USS ''Al-Batani''. He served as an instructor at Starfleet Academy, and later oversees Project Pathfinder to make contact with ''Voyager'' while the ship is lost in the Delta Quadrant. Reginald Barclay was one of Admiral Paris' aides on that project.
