'Otay Mesa' is a rural community within southeast San Diego, California, just north of the U.S.–Mexico border. It is bordered by the Otay River Valley and the city of Chula Vista on the north, Interstate 805 on the west, and county land on the east. State Route 905 connects Otay Mesa and the Interstate.
The 'Otay Mesa Port of Entry' is one of three border crossings in San Diego County, the others being the San Ysidro Port of Entry six miles to the west and Tecate to the east.
