
Order of British Columbia ribbon
The 'Order of British Columbia' or OBC is
British Columbia's highest award for outstanding achievement. Established by statute in
1989 the award is appointed by the
Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia based on recommendations from an advisory council.
The advisory council includes:
★ The Chief Justice of British Columbia (Chair)
★
The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly
★ A President, in turn, of one of British Columbia's Public Universities, for a two-year term
★ The President of the Union of B.C. Municipalities
★ The Deputy Minister responsible for the Order of British Columbia
★ Two past recipients of the Order

Lieutenant-Governor Iona Campagnolo appointed 13 people to the Order.
