ORANMORE


'Oranmore' () is a suburban village in County Galway on the outskirts of Galway City in Ireland.
With its major housing developments, Oranmore is rapidly becoming a part of Galway's commuter or suburban belt.
The focus of local industry has recently shifted from primarily dairy agriculture to tourism, manufacturing and logistics, and there are several industrial parks located near the village.
In 2004 Oranmore was listed as one of the communities with the highest per capita incomes in Ireland.
The Galway Bay Sailing Club is located in Renville, Maree.

Joseph Henry Blake, nobleman and socialist, grew up on a nearby estate in Treanlaur, Maree.

Thomas Redington, Irish politician, born here.

Joe Howley, Irishman involved in the struggle for Irish Independence, was killed by the British in December 1920. A statue stands in Oranmore in his honor.
