OMAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

The 'Oman national football team' is the national team of Oman and is controlled by the Oman Football Association. It has never qualified for the World Cup but has qualified for the Asian Cup in the years 2004 and 2007. Also Oman have done superb jobs in the past Gulf Cups with reaching the quarter-finals in the 16th gulf cup held in Kuwait and have even qualified for the final of the 17th and 18th gulf cups. Unfortunately with there great performance in the beginning and middle of the cup when it comes to the final the opposing teams both had the home advantage. But the next Gulf cup in the year 2009 will be held in Oman. Oman also had Imad Al hosni receive the golden boot in the year 2004. The goalie, Ali Al habsi also received the best arab goalkeeper in a row in and counting. He is also currently the only goalie in the Gulf countries to play in the English FA.
