ODAWA LANGUAGE

The 'Odawa language', '''Daawaamwin''' or '''Nishnaabemwin''' is a dialect of ''Anishinaabemowin'' spoken by the Odawa/Ottawa peoples. It is spoken in Ontario and Michigan, and is going through revitalization in Oklahoma. 'Nishnaabemwin' is characterised by its high degree of vowel syncope, when compared with other Anishinaabe language dialects.
