History

Tse has produced a number of albums, known for their simple guitar riffs. He has also starred in several acclaimed films, such as ''Time and Tide'' (順流逆流) , ''Metade Fumaca'' (半支煙) and more recently ''The Promise'' (無極) and ''Dragon Tiger Gate'' (龍虎門), The Promise was an average movie hit, whereas Dragon Tiger Gate garnered many critisms from movie critics and audiences worldwide. Nicholas comes from a family of stardom, his father Patrick Tse and mother Deborah Li. He enjoys success in Hong Kong, Taiwan and many other other places, being the most welcomed in China. He also has rumours on having a range of girlfriends including Cecilia Cheung (張拍芝) , Faye Wong (王菲), Kary Ng, and Bondy Chiu (趙學而). Nicholas has proposed to Cecilia Cheung (張拍芝) and married secretly without notifying their friends or parents.
Beginning his career with Mr Albert Yeung (楊受成) (a friend of Patrick Tse), he slowly climbed the ladder of stardom. He made his name through a wide range of Cantonese songs, including: 'Have to leave'(非走不可) and 'Remade Man'(改造人). These songs are also widely performed by other artists such as Hacken Lee (Lee Hak Kan 李克勤) and Eason Chan (Chan Yik Sun 陳奕迅). Tse is the youngest male singer to have held a full concert in the Hong Kong Coliseum. He has a habit of expressing his emotions on stage by smashing his guitar, giving him the nicknames "Bad Boy of Cantopop" and "Pete Townshend of Hong Kong". But he has turned to be a good boy after the car accident.
He is now concentrating on his movie career and puts his singing career on hold. His last movie is 'Invisible Target' (男兒本色) and last album was 'Forget Me Not' (毋忘我).

Car accidents

At the height of his career, he crashed his Toyota Crown Comfort into Hong Kong Central Station in the early morning of March 23, 2002. Initially it was claimed that his driver was responsible for the crash, but further investigation by the ICAC revealed the story was fabricated, involving three other men and a police officer. Tse was sentenced to 240 hours of community service for obstruction of justice, and officer Lau Chi-Wai was sentenced to six months in prison. Although some viewed this charge as lenient, the 240 hours was the maximum punishment for this offense, given that Tse was a young offender at the time (21 years and 7 months.) Nonetheless, some claimed that the sentence would send out a wrong message to Hong Kong youths, but it could be argued handing out a harsher sentence because he was a celebrity is just as inappropriate as handing out a lighter one. This incident had caused him to have a downfall in popularity.
He later had another accident in November, where he crashed his Toyota Supra in Lantau. He was banned from driving for six months and fined HK$4000 for reckless driving. Prior to this, he was fined HK$7000 and had his license suspended for a year for two separate charges of speeding.
Tse has often been renowned for his interest in the Fast and Furious movie series.
