Route description

NY 119 begins at US 9 in the village of Tarrytown, near an interchange with I-87/I-287. NY 119 passes through the town of Greenburgh, just outside the village of Elmsford, where it has an interchange with I-87 and I-287 at the eastern split of those two interstate highways. NY 119 continues into Elmsford, intersecting with the Saw Mill River Parkway and the Sprain Brook Parkway but with no junction with the latter. It then continues through the rest of Greenburgh, meeting up with New York State Route 100 near the White Plains city line. After a short overlap with NY 100, it officially ends at New York State Route 22 within White Plains. NY 119 connects to I-287 at its eastern terminus via the 0.4-mile long Westchester County Route 71 (known locally as ''Westchester Avenue''), which is labelled as NY 119 in some maps.
