NEPALI CONGRESS (DEMOCRATIC)


'Nepali Congress (Democratic)' is one of the major political party of Nepal. It is currently a major partner in the Interim Government of Nepal. Nepali Congress divided to two parties, one led by former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, is Nepali Congress (Democratic), and the other is led by Girija Prasad Koirala.
Kalash is the election symbol of Nepali Congress Democratic.
This party has extensive political organization in Nepal consisting of Working Committees in all 75 Districts of Nepal. The President of Kathmandu District Committee, is Dhyan Govinda Ranjit (Nepali/Nepal Bhasa: ध्‍यान गोबिन्‍द रञ्‍जित).
The trade union of NC(D) is Democratic Confederation of Nepalese Trade Unions (Decont).
The student union of Nepali Congress (Democratic) is Nepal Student Union (Nepal Bidhyarthi Sangh).

This party has been the first political party in Nepal to include a reserved seat in its Central Working Committee for a leader from Karnali Zone, as well as for a leader from Ethnic Minority.
This party has also been the first poltical party to make its financial statement public in Nepal.

Tarun Dal


Tarun Dal is the youth wing of Nepali Congress (Democratic).
3rd General Convention of Tarul Dal was held in Chitawan from July 17-20, 2007, which elected Mahendra Yadav as the new President of Tarun Dal.

Nepal Students Union (Nepal Bidhyarthi Sangh)


Nepal Students Union (Nepal Bidhyarthi Sangh) is the students wing of Nepali Congress (Democratic).
The 9th general convention of the Nepal Students Union (NSU) affiliated with the Nepali Congress (Democratic) was held in Nepalgunj from July 10-July 15, 2007.
NC-D president and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba inaugurated the three-day general convention, which will elect a new leadership of the Union. The convention was extended for two more days due to dispute over representatives.
Kalyan Gurung was elected as the President of Nepal Student Union by the convention.
