NAFPAKTIA

'Nafpaktia' is one of the most popular mountainous areas in Greece. Visitors can marvel at the natural beauty of the scenery, as well as enjoy many activities, such as mountainous trekking, biking, horseback-riding, archery and more. The tall imposing mountains of the area and the impressive ravines, in combination with the deep green pine trees of mountainous Nafpaktia remind visitors of enchanting Switzerland. The approximately 45 villages are famous for their breathtaking views. The villages are built at altitudes of 700-1000m and are located 30-60km from Nafpaktos, surrounded by rich vegetation and natural springs. Elatou is approximately one hour away from Nafpaktos and is built in a pine forest. This small, picturesque settlement is built amphitheatrically, while it only has a few permanent residents. Another popular village is Ano Chora. It used to be called Megali Lobotina, while it has a population of 30. It has narrow cobblestone paths and traditional houses, while there are many guesthouses, which are quite popular in the winter months. The scenery is enchanting, while a walk around the nearby pine forest is a must.
