Double Round Robin of 30 games each. Champion promoted, bottom two teams relegated.2nd to 4th qualify for Promotion play-offs.

'The Mvela Golden League (MGL)' is the trading name of the 'National First Division (NFD)' of South African club football (soccer) established from the 2004/2005 season by business magnate Tokyo Sexwale's Mvelaphanda Group. It is the second highest league after the Castle Premiership. Andrew Dipela is the current GM.
After the 2004/2005 season, the league was reduced from 18 to 16 teams.
