Mutual assured destruction
Mutual assured destruction - what will happen when two insane men have control of nuclear weapons. John McCain lacks the temperment and mental stability to control the world's strongest military.
Tradition - Million Years of Warfare (Original)
This song was written during the Cold War era where the geo-political powers of the time employed tactics of avoiding conflict hangs over a doctrine called MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction). Today, the way other countries relentlessly trying to develop their nuclear technologies, planners will have to conceive a new doctrine that describe humanity's collective march towards self-inflicted Armageddon. *********** *********** The background photo was taken up at Joshua Tree National Park. The red sky was the reflection of a large fire just east of Los Angeles as the setting sun radiates what would have been a golden glow. *********** *********** Tradition Tradition of fighting is here till the end Pass in on and mach along in deferent ways Delusions of grandeur deceivingly right "Let us do it while we can, I hate to see our people on the run" Who would say that warfare is just natural Did evolution frame it in our minds? A legacy a terminal solution Million-year tradition, Human race could never leave behind. Of all our tradition this is the one Tradition that will put an end to all the rest A new age, an old rage danger ahead Always been and will again This old Tradition must be put to end *********** ***********
"You're Ugly and Your Mother..." by Jason Robert Brown
I have apparently been "challenged" by my old friend Jason Robert Brown to put up a link to a historical performance of his ubiquitous song "You're Ugly And Your Mother Dresses You Funny" on my website. Perhaps Mr. Brown thought that the Soviet-era "mutual assured destruction" principle would apply; in other words, since we all have really embarrassing 1989-era hairdos, this tape would serve as blackmail material for any of us involved, and I wouldn't actually do it. However, since I really have no shame when it comes to things like this, here is a 7-minute clip from the 1989 performance of the "Eastman Chamber Rock Ensemble" (the oversized band that Jason founded while we were in school) featuring "You're Ugly And...". You asked for it, buddy...
The Nuclear Triad
In strategic nuclear parlance, the Nuclear Triad refers to the three tiers of a country's nuclear arsenal. Composed of land-based ICBMs, ballistic missile submarines armed with SLBMs, and strategic bombers armed with bombs or cruise missiles. This reduces the possibility that an enemy could destroy all of a country's nuclear forces in a first strike attack. This ensures a credible threat of a second strike, and is the cornerstone of the doctrine of Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD). Music: Thom Yorke - 'Black Swan'.
Dr Strangelove Original Theatrical Trailer
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (aka Dr. Strangelove) (1964) is a black comedy film directed by Stanley Kubrick and starring Peter Sellers and George C. Scott. Loosely based by screenwriter Terry Southern on Peter George's Cold War thriller novel Red Alert (aka Two Hours to Doom), Dr. Strangelove satirizes the Cold War and the doctrine of mutual assured destruction. The story concerns a mentally unstable US Air Force general who orders a first strike nuclear attack on the Soviet Union, and follows the President of the United States, his advisors, the Joint Chiefs of Staff and a Royal Air Force (RAF) officer as they try to recall the bombers to prevent a nuclear apocalypse, as well as the crew of one B-52 as they attempt to deliver their payload. In 1989, the United States Library of Congress deemed the film "culturally significant" and selected it for preservation in the National Film Registry. Additionally, it was listed as #3 on AFI's 100 Years... 100 Laughs.

The Devil's Dictionary
This was a prediction I had for the world. I Destroyed myself. I saw it all very clearly. I saw it inside my head. Honest Abe Lincoln, riding a dinosaur! Amelia Earheart on a dragon! And Cornelius Vanderbilt, that old knickerbocker, all his money meant nothing on the inside. Absolutely nothing. This cartoon about the Wizards who live inside the Hollow Earth takes place after the Vice President Richard M Johnson has given his speech to Congress. The Hollow Earth indeed exists as a repository for our dreams, visions, and delusions. Mutually assured destruction is a mutual arrangement.

Nooks and Crannies: The Bunker
In 1957, the Strategic Air Command built a secret alternate command bunker deep into the side of Bare Mountain. Active through the Cuban Missile Crisis, the base would have been the communications center of a nuclear counter-attack. Since 1994, though, the Bunker's doors are open to a new purpose.
