 | ROCK THE VOTE AMERICA by JK Citizen: Mount Rushmore Presidents Sing For Obamas Historical Election Miami (PRWEB) Sep 12, 2008 - The first historical election of the twenty first century is well under way and Mount Rushmores Presidents, Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt, and Lincoln have personally come alive to do there fair share for the vote. The real Fab four were personally chauffeured to the studio to sing on Miami based musician JK Citizens, now infamous song Rock The Vote America. The four were in rare spirits and on key as they sang in unison on the chorus of the song, in what can be deemed as a long over due reunion. But alas, what is all this controversy then you ask? After the JK Citizens audio recording was released several weeks ago it was met with a tremendous positive response on the internet and JK's follow up video response has been even stronger. It was released as the first in a series of singles, off his debut CD Roc Me. After the Rock The Vote America video was released a week ago, JK found himself in the limelight and surrounded by controversy after what some have perceived as his portrayal of Presidential Nominee Barack Obama. As of today JK Citizens public relations released a video statement from JK himself. I wrote the song because I was so inspired that we might finally see change in this country and because the citizens of this nation feel that hope is truly alive. I never realized that so many people would like it and that it would be embraced by the political powers that be. Its like a dream and only In America" JK was quoted as saying. Some democratic insiders are pushing for the song to become the theme for Obamas Presidential race, after hearing the lyrics that seem to capture the overall mood of the nation. It is expected to be used on the democratic campaign trail and to increase the young vote on Obamas behalf. Jk Citizen can be found on just about any search engine and the video is everywhere.  | Mount Rushmore! Starring: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. A lot of people take them for granite. In the 1981 movie "Superman II", three super-villains from Superman's home planet of Krypton come to earth to rule. They fly over Mt Rushmore and zap it, replacing three of the faces with likenesses of themselves, and sending Lincoln's face crumbling down the mountain. This prompts President E.G. Marshall (elected to a second White House term in 1984) to exclaim, "Thousands of hours to create and they destroyed it in seconds!" The same year, Mad Magazine parodied the film with "Superduperman II", illustrated by caricaturist Mort Drucker. In Mad's version, the faces are again replaced with those of the villains - and the visage of former President Richard Nixon. |
 | A Visit to Mount Rushmore SD 16—the road to Mount Rushmore from Rapid City, South Dakota—meanders through and up and down the conifer encrusted Black Hills mountains. As you crest the top of a curving stretch of SD 16, a panoramic vista opens up on your right or left. You might see a vast gorge or a green covered valley stretching out to the next side of mountain in the distance. When you reach the entrance to the monument, you go through the park entrance after paying a $10 parking fee, the only charge required. Beyond the parking lot you pass through the visitors entrance, which comprises a length of grey granite columns. Upon passing through the open columns, the wall on your right contains the names carve in marble of all the workers who help create the Mount Rushmore Monument. On the opposite wall is a statue of Gutzun Borglum, the man credited with creating the sculpture and directing its construction. Moving toward the area for viewing the monument, you walk down a long path lined with granite columns on either side, each carrying four state flags and the states' motto. At the end of the walk, you are confronted with a wide rectangular esplanade. And in the distance ahead, you see the four presidents high atop Mount Rushmore: Washington, Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, and Lincoln. It is a spectacular view, the cold and snow clinging to the ground in early June 2008, notwithstanding. Beneath the esplanade is a visitor's center with theaters showing a movie on the creation of the monument, narrated by Tom Brokaw. An educational film it describes Gutzun and his marvelous feat. You learn about how to use dynamite to sculpt larger than life size sculptures, about the years it took to bring each figure into being, and about the tools used besides dynamite to give the figures the smooth appearance they have today. |

 | Mt Rushmore Our visit to Mt Rushmore was actually wonderful! We had beautiful blue skies with big puffy white clouds and time to visit all of the extra spots there. We found out about the Presidential Trail late and we saw the ominous dark clouds pushing our way, but we walked the trail anyhow and it was amazing. We were right at the foot of the mountain! As we ate dinner, waiting for the music show and the lighting of the presidents, the sky got darker and darker and finally the thunder roared and there was more continuous lightening than I've ever seen before. We waited with all the other visitors to see if the storm would pass, but alas, we found out that there would be no show. They would only light up the presidents at 8:00PM. We waited and waited, but finally, we could wait no longer. We were falling asleep after a very long day. We waded out to the car and made our way out of the parking lot. As we were driving away, we saw the lighted presidents barely showing through the heavy rain. It was a good day, but now it was over . . . |
