'Moncure' is a small, rural area in southeastern Chatham County, NC. The community is located near the confluence of the Deep and Haw River. That confluence forms the Cape Fear River.
The B. Everett Jordan Lake Dam is located just north of Moncure and the area is home to much of Chatham County's heavy industry, including a power plant and several plywood and lumber plants.
