The 'Minister of Public Security' of the People's Republic of China is a high-level official of the PRC government. He heads the Ministry of Public Security, which is responsible for police in China. It should not be confused with the Ministry of State Security, the primary Chinese intelligence and security agency.
As of 2005, the Minister of Public Security is Zhou Yongkang, and as of 2005, the Vice Minister of Public Security is Meng Hongwei.
