Japan. The town was formed on
October 1,
2005 from the merger of the towns of
Nansei and
Nantō.
As of its founding but with
2003 population statistics, the town has an estimated
population of 17,347 and a
density of 71.4 persons per
km². The total area is 242.93 km².
