Kosovo Enclave Gorazdevac.
Gorazdevac: Kosovo Serb enclave under 24-hour guard by troops from KFOR. In August 2003, a 19-year old Serbian teenager and a 12-year old boy were shot and killed, with four more children wounded, while swimming in the Bistrica river at Goraždevac. In the past Serb children have been the targets of grenades and run over by cars, and now they are being perfidiously killed when they are swimming in the river. A group of young people bathing in the Bistrica River near Pec was targeted by machine gun fire in which two people were killed and six wounded. NATO HOSPITALITY: "Near the farmer's market our Opel Kadet with Zrenjanin license plates ran out of fuel. I went to the KFOR checkpoint some 50 meters away to ask if they would give us a liter of fuel but the Italian soldiers turned us down, despite the fact that I speak Italian relatively well," said Jandzikovic. "We were then attacked by a group of young Albanians - with fists and stones - while members of the Kosovo Police Service nearby failed to react," he added. Jandzakovic said that "there were two boys in the car fighting for their lives" and added that he does not understand "what is happening to people." "Somehow we managed, with a KFOR military escort, to get to Pec Hospital but once there we were mistreated even by the physicians, who refused to give immediate assistance to the wounded boys," said Jandzikovic, who returned to Gorazdevac without his vehicle, together with KFOR. His shirt is soaked with blood and there are several bruises on his face. http://www.pogledi.co.yu/galerija/gorazdevac/ http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2003/aug/15/balkans/print Tags: International Community Yugoslavia Serbia Kosovo Metohija Land Minority Enclave Serbs Gora Goranci Muslim United Nations Security Council 1244 Human Rights NATO UNMIK KFOR USA Italian Soldiers War Peace Stability Albanian Nationalist UCK KLA Racists Killing Murder

The Forces of the Russian Federation (UTC) (Russian: Вооружённые Си́лы Росси́йской Федера́ции Transliteration: Vooruzhyónniye síly Rossíyskoy Federátsii) is the military of Russia, established after the break-up of the Soviet Union. On 7 May 1992 Boris Yeltsin signed a decree establishing the Russian Ministry of Defence and placing all Soviet Armed Forces troops on the territory of the RSFSR under Russian Federation control.[1] The Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces is the President of the Russian Federation (currently Vladimir Putin). The Defence Ministry of the Russian Federation serves as the administrative body of the military. Since Soviet times, the General Staff has acted as the main commanding and supervising body of the Russian Military Forces. However, currently the General Staff's role is being reduced to that of the Ministry's department of strategic planning, the Minister himself, currently Anatoliy Serdyukov may now be gaining further executive authority over the troops. Other departments include the personnel directorate as well as the Rear Services of the Armed Forces of Russia, railroad troops and construction troops. The Chief of the General Staff is currently General of the Army Yuri Baluyevsky. Baltic Fleet (HQ at Baltiysk in the enclave of Kaliningrad Oblast). Pacific Fleet (HQ at Vladivostok). US Military Crushes Bush Planned Nuclear Attack On Iran By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Western Subscribers (Traducción al Español abajo) Sister Nikolaevna's latest report from Vladikavkaz [see her previous report] has put into greater context the strategies being employed by Colonel-General Anatoly Nogovitsyn's battle plan for countering the Western invasion of the Russian protected enclave of South Ossetia. According to these reports, the August 8th unprovoked attack by US and Israeli led Georgian Special Forces Troops upon South Ossetia, and which cost the lives of over 2,000 innocent civilians, was deliberately timed to coincide with Prime Minister Putin's absence from Moscow as he was attending the opening ceremony for the 2008 Beijing Olympic games and it was believed he would not be able to rapidly respond to the full measure of the American President's plan for continued Global conquest. The American President and his fellow War Leaders, however, grossly underestimated Putin, who upon learning of the US backed invasion of South Ossetia directly confronted Bush, and as we can read as witnessed by Australia's Prime Minister Kevin Rudd: "Mr Rudd revealed in an interview with Beijing Now in Beijing on Saturday that he was sitting just two rows behind Mr Bush when an "animated" discussion between he and Mr Putin broke out over Russia's advance into South Ossetia, a breakaway region in neighbouring Georgia. "The President and Mr Putin were in animated conversation two seats in front of us and I imagine they had a few things on their agenda," Mr Rudd said. Mr Rudd said that Mr Bush appeared to be making a strong point to the Russian Prime Minister, even as the world's elite athletes filed into Beijing's Bird's Nest stadium." Putin's greatest anger towards Bush, these reports continue, was his foreknowledge that the invasion of South Ossetia by Western led forces was a subterfuge maneuver designed in an attempt to cover the Americans true objective, a limited nuclear strike upon Iran's nuclear facilities, and of which the US War Leader had already given the order to strike. Putin's rapid response to these machinations, however, led to his swiftly contacting the top leadership of the United States Military Command whereupon they swiftly 'crushed' their own President's war plans and removed from the American Nuclear Weapons Chain of Command the US Naval Officer who conspired with Bush to plunge our World into Total War. To this prompt dismissal of this US Naval Officer we can read as reported by the Associated Press News Service: "The commander of a Navy air reconnaissance squadron that provides the president and the defense secretary the airborne ability to command the nation's nuclear weapons has been relieved of duty, the Navy said Tuesday. Cmdr. Shawn Bentley was relieved of duty Monday by the Navy for loss of confidence in his ability to command, only three months after taking the job." American Military Commanders went even further to placate Putin by 'immediately' informing Israel that the US would not assist them in their plans to attack Iran, and as we can read as reported by China's Xinhua News Service: "Israeli government spokespersons Wednesday declined to comment that the American administration has rejected an Israeli request for military equipment and support to attack Iran's nuclear facilities, local daily Ha'aretz reported. The report said that the Americans viewed the request, which was transmitted (and rejected) at the highest level, as a sign that Israel is in the advanced stages of preparation to attack Iran. They therefore warned Israel against attacking, saying such a strike would undermine American interest

Aug 04 - Serbs mark OpStorm, the Aug. '95 large-scale military operation carried out by Croatia, in conjunction with the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to recapture areas of central Croatia's enclaves designated as United Nations Protected Areas. During the first day of the attack, that was launched by the Croatian army, UN forces withdrew and after only four days of fighting with the Croatian Serb Army it ended in a decisive victory for the Croatian army. It has been called an act of ethnic cleansing by the defeated Serbs since the operation led to the displacement of approximately 200 000 Croatian Serbs.

NYTimes: Georgia Offers Fresh Evidence on Wars Start
16.09.08 15:53 NYTimes: ''A new front has opened between Georgia and Russia, now over which side was the aggressor whose military activities early last month ignited the lopsided five-day war. At issue is new intelligence, inconclusive on its own, that nonetheless paints a more complicated picture of the critical last hours before war broke out. Georgia has released intercepted telephone calls purporting to show that part of a Russian armored regiment crossed into the separatist enclave of South Ossetia nearly a full day before Georgias attack on the capital, Tskhinvali, late on Aug. 7. Georgia is trying to counter accusations that the long-simmering standoff over South Ossetia, which borders Russia, tilted to war only after it attacked Tskhinvali. Georgia regards the enclave as its sovereign territory. The intercepts circulated last week among intelligence agencies in the United States and Europe, part of a Georgian government effort to persuade the West and opposition voices at home that Georgia was under invasion and attacked defensively. Georgia argues that as a tiny and vulnerable nation allied with the West, it deserves extensive military and political support. Georgia also provided audio files of the intercepts along with English translations to The New York Times, which made its own independent translation from the original Ossetian into Russian and then into English. Russia, already facing deep criticism and the coolest audience in European capitals since the cold war, is arguing vigorously against Georgias claims. Last week, Prime Minister Vladimir V. Putin expressed bafflement at what he saw as the Wests propensity to believe Georgias version of events. In an interview arranged by the Kremlin, the Russian military played down the significance of the intercepted conversations, saying troop movements to the enclave before the war erupted were part of the normal rotation and replenishment of longstanding peacekeeping forces there. But at a minimum, the intercepted calls, which senior American officials have reviewed and described as credible if not conclusive, suggest there were Russian military movements earlier than had previously been acknowledged, whether routine or hostile, into Georgian territory as tensions accelerated toward war. They also suggest the enduring limits — even with high-tech surveillance of critical battlefield locations — of penetrating the wars thick fogs. The back and forth over who started the war is already an issue in the American presidential race, with Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, the Republican vice presidential candidate, contending that Russias incursion into Georgia was unprovoked, while others argue that Georgias shelling of Tskhinvali was provocation. Georgia claims that its main evidence — two of several calls secretly recorded by its intelligence service on Aug. 7 and 8 — shows that Russian tanks and fighting vehicles were already passing through the Roki Tunnel linking Russia to South Ossetia before dawn on Aug. 7. By Russian accounts, the war began at 11:30 that night, when President Mikheil Saakashvili of Georgia ordered an attack on Russian positions in Tskhinvali. Russian combat units crossed the border into South Ossetia only later, Russia has said. Russia has not disputed the veracity of the phone calls, which were apparently made by Ossetian border guards on a private Georgian cellphone network. Listen, has the armor arrived or what? a supervisor at the South Ossetian border guard headquarters asked a guard at the tunnel with the surname Gassiev, according to a call that Georgia and the cellphone provider said was intercepted at 3:52 a.m. on Aug. 7. The armor and people, the guard replied. Asked if they had gone through, he said, Yes, 20 minutes ago; when I called you, they had already arrived. Shota Utiashvili, the director of the intelligence analysis team at Georgias Interior Ministry, said the calls pointed to a Russian incursion. This whole conflict has been overshadowed by the debate over who started this war, he said. These intercepted recordings show that Russia moved first and that we were defending ourselves. The recordings, however, do not explicitly describe the quantity of armor or indicate that Russian forces were engaged in fighting at that time.''
