 | Singkham Sachya - Manang. Short Promo 'Singkham Sachya Manang' is all about one of the Nepal's most remote districts, Manang. The film begins with a traveler, Jaswant Dev Shrestha who travels to Manang with the objective of exploring the world's highest lake, Tilicho lake (5200m) and Throng - La Pass (5416 m). The documentary features amazing Festivals practiced in Manang and its localities. It shows Metha (Bow and Arrow Festival), Yarthum (The Horserace Festival) and Paten Festival, which is celebrated once every three years. It also gives an insight into the daily lifestyles of people living there and school activities like only one student studying in class four. It also tells about wild Animals and gives historical background of the Ghale king, ancient monasteries with 9,000 Buddha statues, story of a monk who built four monasteries (i.e. Braka Gumpa, Tare Gumpa, Tashi Lakhan Gumpa and Pocha Gumpa) in Manang 600 years ago and is believed that he has been re--incarnated after 600 years. Thus, the documentary has successfully sealed information, adventure and entertainment into a single package. |
