 | strawberry baby here's another handfed finch, the parents decided not to care for this one and its sibling. I found the sibling dead and this one was very weak with just one little millet seed in its crop. After two days of handfeeding he's back to begging well and becoming curious about his surroundings as his eyes are beginning to open. Since it sounds like a cricket, that's going to be its name. (I apologize for my messy countertops!) |

 | little baby sparrow This little baby sparrow was found on the sidewalk on Broadway on a stormy, cold, rainy afternoon. He was on his side, shivering. We took him in and warmed him up and started feeding him. He's grown new feathers and is filling out nicely. He chirps a lot. Early in the morning. We can't return him to where we found him because it's such a busy street he might get trampled. There is a park nearby where he will probably be safe. He looks forward to playing in the park (he is practicing his flying skills), but before we let him go he has to start eating on his own! We're tempting him with all kinds of seed and millet and cereal and fruit, but so far he's being a big baby and insists on being fed by hand (recipe for baby bird food from StarlingTalk.com). |

 | Feeding Millet to BOTH! OK so since Skye went back to Sunny I decided to try training them together again now that Skye is a little more used to me. And I got both of them eating Millet VERY close to my hand!!! Other than a few moments where they peck a bit at each other to fight over it. |
