The 'Little Traverse Band of Odawa Indians' was officially recognized in Sept. 21, 1994. The tribe has over 4,000 members with a large number living within Charlevoix and Emmet Counties. Though the tribe has only been recognized for a few years, it has been a tribe for much longer.
