LIST OF POSTCODE DISTRICTS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

This is a list of the post towns of the United Kingdom – it appears in postcode sequence.
Every post town has one or more 'postcode districts', for example PE2. These are also called 'postal districts' or 'outward codes'. In rural areas a postcode district may cover more than one post town. A group of postcode districts with the same alphabetical prefix is called a 'postcode area', for example YO.^[1]
The Royal Mail recommends that in addresses the post town should be written in capitals. Since 1996 former postal counties no longer form part of a full correct postal address.
