7.1 Roadtrip to Althing 7: After-Litha Moon: Freehold-TV
Join us on this "Heathen pilgrimage" to the annual general assembly of the Freehold, our seventh althing. Dan Lawspeaker and company journey by sea and land from Salt Spring Island to 100 Mile House in the interior of British Columbia. The adventure begins at a wedding in the family, and takes our Asatru crew via Swartz Bay to Tsawassen and Vancouver, on to Hope, Cache Creek and 100 Mile, over the Georgia Strait, along first the mighty Fraser and Thompson Rivers, over the Coastal Mountain Range into the Cariboo region. Their destination is the construction site of a mead-hall, what is to be Canada's first Heathen hall of worship, location of the Freehold's midsummer festival and our althing. Music courtesy Dan Of The Hammer. 7.2 Althing 7 Highlights 05:22 http://youtube.com/watch?v=S-HTVaxq0GM 7.3 Oath of Troth, Gifts of the Gods 08:34 http://youtube.com/watch?v=EZ5k6ikieQs 7.4 Interview with 2nd Freyr of the Freehold, Pt. 1 of 2 09:57 http://youtube.com/watch?v=hYx8117SoCE 7.5 Interview with 2nd Freyr, Pt. 2 of 2 08:31 http://youtube.com/watch?v=fACBKoymxko 7.6 About Freehold Althing & Interview w/ Teunis 05:37 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCZSbkefHio 7.7 Roadtrip to Althing 7, Journey Home 07:31 http://youtube.com/watch?v=cs3rS_ldNcI
4.1 History Made in Canada : Easter Moon 1/2: FreeholdTV
6th Anniversary recollections. Heathen history made in Canada by the Heathen Freehold Society of B.C., setting many precedents. Thank you, to our members, to the public, to Heathen everywhere and to indigenous leaders, not to mention family members, for your encouragement and support. The "lawspeaker" is vessel for the living memory of the Freehold, and, Oh! what memories have we! A challenging but worthwhile and rewarding 6 years. What keeps up the motivation? The old folks, and the children, of course! Easter marks important milestone for the Freehold in its quest for legal recognition of the "old religion". Part 1 of 2. 7.7 Roadtrip to Althing, The Voyage Home: After-Litha
After 7th Althing, the Lawspeaker and company head back home to the coast, stopping in Vancouver to meet with co-hosts regarding the Canadian National Pagan Conference 2009, which the Heathen Freehold is happy to host. Dan and his son also check out the movie "Hancock". Dan gives tribute to the gods of weather, and reflects on the defining moments of Althing 7. Orcas, or "Killer Whales" meet the boat as it enters the Gulf Islands, along with magical weather, thunder, lightening and sunshine. 7.1 Roadtrip to Althing 7 08:37 http://youtube.com/watch?v=2kJJH3ChD60 7.2 Althing 7 Highlights 05:22 http://youtube.com/watch?v=S-HTVaxq0GM 7.3 Oath of Troth, Gifts of the Gods 08:34 http://youtube.com/watch?v=EZ5k6ikieQs 7.4 Interview with 2nd Freyr of the Freehold, Pt. 1 of 2 09:57 http://youtube.com/watch?v=hYx8117SoCE 7.5 Interview with 2nd Freyr, Pt. 2 of 2 08:31 http://youtube.com/watch?v=fACBKoymxko 7.6 About Freehold Althing & Interview w/ Teunis 05:37 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCZSbkefHio
Godafoss Waterfall Iceland part 1
The Goðafoss (Icelandic: waterfall of the gods or waterfall of the goði) is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland. It is located in the Mývatn district of North-Central Iceland at the beginning of the Sprengisandur highland road. The water of the river Skjálfandafljót falls from a height of 12 meters over a width of 30 meters. In the year 999 or 1000 the Lawspeaker Þorgeirr Ljósvetningagoði made Christianity the official religion of Iceland. After his conversion it is said that upon returning from the Alþingi, Þorgeirr threw his statues of the Norse gods into the waterfall. Þorgeirr's story is preserved in Ari Þorgilsson's Íslendingabók.
