lieutenant-governors) of the
Canadian province of
Quebec, before and after
Confederation in 1867. For governors preceding the
1759 British conquest, see
Governor of New France.
Governors of Quebec from the Conquest to the creation of Lower Canada
Quebec was conquered by the
British in
1759.
Lieutenant-Governors of Lower Canada
Lower Canada was created out of the eastern part of Quebec by the
Constitutional Act of 1791.
Lord Sydenham was also
Governor General of Canada, and united
Upper Canada and Lower Canada into the
Province of Canada. Lower Canada became
Canada East.

After Richard Downes Jackson, the Lieutenant-Governors were also simultaneously Governors General.
The Province of Canada was split into Ontario and Quebec after
Canadian Confederation in
1867.
