 | Plastic Waste at Kempty Falls On 12 May 2006 I visited the Kempty Falls at Mussorie, India. Mussorie is known as the 'Queen of Hills' in India. It is a scenic mountaneous region and the Kempty Falls are one of the most beautiful spots there. When at the falls I was shocked to see an empty plastic bottle of Pepsi swirling in the waters. Someone had unmindfully thrown it. To my further dismay I found such bottle dumped at several places. No one had done anything about it. Every tourist spot in the world is cleaned every day and kept free of such waste. No one seemed to take notice, do something or prevent such occurrences in the future. Our most scenic country, India, is going to get buried under such waste if nothing is done about it soon. All of us are to blame, not just the authorities. |
