KAMEYAMA, MIE

is a city located in Mie Prefecture, Japan.
As of 2006, the city has an estimated population of 48,902 and the density of 256.15 persons per km². The total area is 190.91 km².
The city was founded on October 1, 1954.

The city was the castle town of Ise Kameyama-han and also hosted Kameyama-juku, the forty-sixth station of TÅkaidÅ.
Candles are a traditional product of the city. Sharp Corporation operates one of the world's largest LCD factories in the city since January 8, 2004. It is easy to transport products to Osaka and other cities overland.
It was merged with the former town of Seki on January 11, 2005.
