JANA
:''in Sanskrit, ''jana'' means "tribe, people"; see Janapada.''
'Jana' is a woman's given name, which has many origins. In Arabic it is a verb used in the sense of harvesting good things from life. It is also found in the Quran ; God harvested the fruits of heaven. For some it is the name of the Roman goddess Diana, who was often called Jana; for others, Jana is a Slavic short-form for Johanna. Less often, this form is Janna. In India however, Jana is a shortform for the Hindu God Janardhan.
