The 'House of the Weeping Widow' (; ) is an architectural landmark in the city of
Kiev (''Kyiv''), the capital of
Ukraine located at 23 Luteranska St.
The building was constructed in
1907 in the early
Art Nouveau style by architect E.Bradtman. The construction was ordered by Serhiy Arshavskyi, a wealthy merchantman from Poltava, who occupied the building before the bolshevik’s revolution. The building carried the first owner name somewhat longed then he lived there, up to these days it is sometimes referred as ''Serhiy Arshavskyi Building''. Following the revolution the building was occupied by International Group Federation of Central Committee of
bolshevik's party.

Currently it's used as an official residence of the
President of Ukraine.
[2] It’s often provided as a residence for official foreign visitors to Ukraine. Notably, U.S. State Secretary
Madeleine Albright, and
Condoleezza Rice, Presidents of
Lithuania,
Brazil were provided the residence during their stay in Kiev.

The building takes its name from when it rains, water pours over the face of a woman and on her cheeks.
