HOKURIKU REGION

is the (sub)region along the Sea of Japan within the Chubu region, the central region of Honshū, the main island of Japan.
The variously defined region includes the prefectures of Toyama, Ishikawa and Fukui.
Niigata Prefecture is sometimes included into Hokuriku region and sometimes not. It can be classified:

★ region with Nagano Prefecture.

★ with Nagano and Yamanashi Prefectures.
region is the greater subregion adjoining Hokuriku and Shin'etsu regions.
