How the sun really works
(see links below for details of this model, numerous peer reviewed publications, and direct observational evidence) The first thing that any person can see is that the current standard model of the sun is highly inadequate. Its assumes that the top of the convection zone (photosphere) is the final stage in the mechanism that makes the sun shine. But this is not true. It has no explanation for the majority of the sun from this point onwards, it fails to explain why the photosphere is at a temperature minimum, it fails to explain why the corona is millions and millions of degrees hotter than the sun, it fails to explain why the solar wind stops completely on occasions (sometimes for days), it fails to explain why the equator rotates more rapidly than the rest of the sun, the filamentary structure of the corona, why particles accelerate with increasing distance to the sun, and a whole host of other issues that are better explained with the electric sun model. The main Problems with the current model of the sun are as follows: * Temperature of the halo-like corona is 300 times that of surface, violating the inverse square law for radiation * Rotates faster at equator, faster on surface * Solar wind accelerates (somehow) upon leaving the Sun * Sunspots reveal cooler interior * Sunspots travel faster than surrounding surface * Sunspot penumbra (interior walls) reveal structured filaments and move much faster than slow convection should allow An eletcrical model would solve many of these problems. To its advantage the electric sun model is relatively simple. It is entirely self consistent and does not require the existence of mysterious entities such as the unseen solar dynamo that lurks somewhere behind the fusion model and creates impossible 'tangled magnetic fields' that produce sunspots. (The very word dynamo was coined by electrical engineers to describe a direct current generator. Magnetic fields are produced by electric currents in coils, inductors and transformers, not by the movement of hot gasses.). The ES model does not require arbitrary adjustments, exceptions to the laws of physics, or after-the-fact speculations. It passes the Occam's razor test far better than the current model. In the ES sun hypothesis, the power of the sun does not lie deep within it, the sun sits as the focus of not only the planets but also a large plasmasphere. Due to its size the sun has a large electric capacitance; this capacitance receives charge from cosmic (birkeland) currents that exist in our arm of the galaxy. The sun thus exhibits a relatively high voltage. The suns voltage multiplied by the total value of current coming towards it could be sufficient to produce the suns observed power output. The sun is powered by its galactic environment, and not from within itself. http://www.electric-cosmos.org/sun.htm Check out these links for some direct proof of this model, and the science behind it; http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/freeabs_all.jsp?tp=&arnumber=4287093&isnumber=4287017 http://adsabs.harvard.edu/cgi-bin/nph-bib_query?bibcode=2001A%26A...376..288I&db_key=AST&data_type=HTML&format=&high=45cce9d73305181 http://www.onr.navy.mil/Focus/spacesciences/research/sun.htm http://archives.cnn.com/2001/TECH/space/11/21/solar.gas/index.html http://spaceflightnow.com/news/n0111/21sohogas/ http://www.mssl.ucl.ac.uk/www_astro/news/gtbr/rx1914.html http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/freeabs_all.jsp?arnumber=4346305 http://www.plasma-universe.com/index.php/Texts:On_Possible_Electric_Phenomena_in_Solar_Systems_and_Nebulae http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap021003.html http://www.plasma-universe.com/index.php/Heliospheric_current_circuit http://www.spacetoday.org/SolSys/Sun/SunGasFallsInward.html http://adsabs.harvard.edu/cgi-bin/nph-bib_query?bibcode=1996Ap%26SS.244...89P&db_key=AST&data_type=HTML&format=&high=45cce9d73311457 http://www.springerlink.com/content/k38204671658130q/ http://www.electric-cosmos.org/hrdiagr.htm http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2005ApJ...633L..57S http://www.aanda.org/index.php?option=article&access=standard&Itemid=129&url=/articles/aa/abs/2001/24/aah2649/aah2649.html plasma galaxy formation (peer reviewed); http://www.plasma-universe.com/index.php/Galaxy_formation Keywords; hannes alfven, eric lerner, anthony peratt, kristian birkeland, charles bruce, halton arp donald scoot wallace thornhill ralph juergens plasma cosmology plasma universe electric universe
Keeping the Lights On
The dog days of summer are here! And with them comes an increased use of air conditioners and an increased strain on our already aging power grid. The U.S. has nearly 500,000 miles of transmission lines carrying electricity to consumers. Many of them are more than 50 years old, a concern, as the "design-life" for many of the components -- power transformers, circuit breakers, etc. is only 30 to 35 years on average. So what's being done to make sure the lights stay on? Experts say it's a combination of building new power plants, improving older ones and using advanced transmission technologies. High voltage direct current (HVDC) technology, for example, allows communities to tap into electricity generated miles and miles away. Case in point -- the new Neptune Regional Transmission System takes power generated in Sayreville, New Jersey, transports it underneath the Atlantic Ocean, and ultimately delvers it to a substation 65 miles away on Long Island, so it can be used by residents in more than half a million homes. By taking electricity from sites with a large supply and delivering it efficiently and cheaply to areas with a large demand, experts say we can reduce the likelihood of blackouts. This is especially helpful, they say, in urban areas, which have growing populations and growing power use, but often lack the space needed to build new power plants. Currently, more than a dozen HVDC projects exist in the U.S. Produced for Siemens

AC/DC Highway to hell
AC/DC ROCK -------------- AC/DC are a rock band formed in Sydney, Australia in 1973 by brothers Angus and Malcolm Young. Although the band are considered pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal,[1][2] its members have always classified their music as "rock 'n' roll".[3] AC/DC underwent several line-up changes before releasing their first album, High Voltage, in 1975. Membership remained stable until bassist Cliff Williams replaced Mark Evans in 1977. In 1979, the band recorded their highly successful album Highway to Hell. Lead singer and co-songwriter Bon Scott died on February 19, 1980, after a night of heavy alcohol consumption. The group briefly considered disbanding, but soon ex-Geordie singer Brian Johnson was selected as Scott's replacement. Later that year, the band released their best selling album, Back in Black. The band's next album, For Those About to Rock (We Salute You), was also highly successful and was their first album to reach number one in the United States. AC/DC declined in popularity soon after the departure of drummer Phil Rudd in 1983. Poor record sales continued until the release of The Razors Edge in 1990. Phil Rudd returned in 1994 and contributed to the band's 1995 album Ballbreaker. Stiff Upper Lip was released in 2000 and was well received by critics. A new album was announced in 2004 and is expected in late 2008.[4] AC/DC have sold an estimated 200 million albums worldwide,[5]including 68 million albums in the US.[6] Back in Black has sold an estimated 42 million units worldwide[7] and 22 million in the US alone,[8] making it the fifth highest-selling album ever in the US. AC/DC ranked fourth on VH1's list of the "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock"[9] and the seventh "Greatest Heavy Metal Band Of All Time" by MTV.[10] Angus and Malcolm Young developed the idea for the band's name after seeing the acronym "AC/DC" on the back of a sewing machine owned by their sister, Margaret. "AC/DC" is an abbreviation for "alternating current/direct current", which indicates that an electrical device can use either type of power. The brothers felt that this name symbolised the band's raw energy and power-driven performances, and love for music so the name stuck.[11][12] In some cultures, "AC/DC" is a slang term for bisexuality; the band have said that they were not aware of this usage until it was brought to their attention by a taxi driver one night after a concert early in their career.[13] Some religious figures have suggested that the name stands for "Anti-Christ/Devil's Child(ren)", "Anti-Christ/Death to Christ" and "After Christ/Devil Comes".[12] "AC/DC" is pronounced one letter at a time, though the band is popularly known as "Acca Dacca" in Australia. Brothers Angus, Malcolm, and George Young were born in Glasgow, Scotland, and moved to Sydney, Australia with most of their family in 1963. George was the first to learn to play the guitar. He became a member of The Easybeats, Australia's most successful band of the 1960s. In 1966, they became the first local rock act to have an international hit, with the song "Friday On My Mind".[14][15] Malcolm followed in George's footsteps by playing with a Newcastle, New South Wales band called The Velvet Underground (not to be confused with the New York-based The Velvet Underground).[16] n November 1973, Malcolm and Angus Young formed AC/DC and recruited bassist Larry Van Kriedt, vocalist Dave Evans, and Colin Burgess, ex-The Masters Apprentices drummer.[17] The band played their first gig at a club named Chequers in Sydney on New Year's Eve, 1973.[18] They were later signed to the EMI-distributed Albert Productions label for Australia and New Zealand. The early line-up of the band changed often; Colin Burgess was the first member fired, and several bassists and drummers passed through the band during the next year.
How to use renewable energy sources intelligently
"HVDC Plus", the next generation of high-voltage direct-current transmission systems, is an intelligent solution for feeding electricity from renewable energy sources with fluctuating power generation capacities -- such as offshore wind farms -- into the power grid reliably and efficiently.
