HIGH-END

(Redirected from High end)

'High-end' refers to the best and generally most expensive of a class of goods or services. For example, high-end audio refers to audio equipment that is designed to be the best it can be, regardless of price.
Other things can be ''high end'', as long as the concern is being the best, regardless of price. Examples are cooking equipment, cars, shoes, etc. A "high end" restaurant would include purveyors such as The Palm, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, Maxim's de Paris and The Fat Duck restaurant in the United Kingdom.
The opposite of ''high end'' is usually called "low-end", usually in a derogatory manner, but sometimes connected with particular lifestyles or even artistic movements like lo-fi.
