'Hechuan' () is one of districts in north Chongqing, China, located at the meeting point of Jialing River, Fu river and Qu river, with a history of 1500 years. Hechuan is 54 km away from Yuzhong of Chongqing city.
Hechuan District administers 27 townships and 3 subdistricts, with a total area of 2356.21 square kilometers.
Hechuan enjoys a history of 2300 years.
★ In 316 BC, a Dianjiang county was establied here.
★ In Warring States Period, it was the other capital of Ba country.
★ In 556, the Dianjiang county was renamed as Hezhou.
★ In 1913, Hezhou was renamed as Hechuan county.
★ In 1983, Hechuan county was put under the administration of Chongqing city.
★ In 1992, Hechuan county was promoted to a city level, called Hechuan city.
★ In 2006, Hechuan city was changed into Hechuan district, Chongjing, a county-level division of Chongqing.
Hechuan is located in 105.58'37"E-106.40'37"E of longitude and 29.51'02"N-30.22'24"N of latitude. It is in border with Yubei district of Chongqing and Huayun city of Sichuan in east, with Beibei district and Bishang county of Chongqing in south, with Tongliang county of Chongqing in west, with Wusheng county of Sichuan in north.
Its climate belongs to subtropic monsoon weather style, with an annual average temperature of 18.1℃, monthly average temperature of 7.2℃ in January, 28.3℃ in July, annual total rainfall of 1131.3mm and frost-free period of 330 days.
With Xianyang-Chongqing railroad, Suining-Chongqing railroad and Nanchong-Chongqing free highway across there, Hechuan is the key position of transportation and economy corridor to north Sichuan,Shanxi and Gansu.
