History

Between 1065–1068 a castle (the ''Harzburg'') was built there but was destroyed so only ruins remain today. The ''Burgberg Aerial Tramway'' runs up the castle hill. In 1892 it was given the title "Bad" (=Bath) and started to become an important tourist attraction.
