Heath Andrew Ledger (April 4, 1979 -- January 22, 2008) was an Academy Award-, BAFTA-, Golden Globe-, and SAG Award-nominated Australian film and television actor. After appearing in television roles during the 1990s, Ledger developed a movie career, appearing in nearly 20 films. He starred in both critical and box-office successes, including 10 Things I Hate About You, The Patriot, Monster's Ball, A Knight's Tale, Brokeback Mountain and The Dark Knight. For his portrayal of Ennis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain, Ledger won the 2005 New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actor and the 2006 "Best Actor" award from the Australian Film Institute and was nominated for the 2005 Oscar for "Best Actor in a Leading Role" and the 2006 "Best Actor" award from the BAFTA, as well as won an MTV Movie Award with Jake Gyllenhaal, for their "best kiss" in the film. He played the Joker in the movie The Dark Knight,shortly before his death on January 22, 2008, from an accidental prescription drug overdose at age 28.His final film performance, uncompleted at the time of his death, is the role of Tony in Terry Gilliam's forthcoming film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.  | "Borat" star to be a dad Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update on this Tuesday, June 5, 2007. "Borat" star Sacha Baron Cohen and his fiancé are reportedly expecting their first baby. Sources tell People magazine Australian actress Isla Fisher will give birth this winter. At Sunday night's MTV movie awards, Fisher reportedly showed off her newly pregnant figure. The two have been dating for about 5 years. Actor Jack Black is signing on to star in a new comedy. The film titled, "Year One" is being directed and co-produced by Harold Ramis. He'll be working along side Judd Apatow who's producing the film as well. Apatow is the producer, writer and director of the new movie "Knocked Up" which came out in theaters last weekend. There's no word yet on what the film is about or when it's set to release. Paris Hilton is reportedly doing well in jail. Her attorney visited her yesterday and says she's taking her time to "reflect on life." He also says jail staff told him Hilton has been polite and thankful for their help. She checked into jail Sunday night and has since been in a small cell...in isolation for 23 hours a day. Hilton is expected to stay behind bars for another 3 weeks for violating probation in a reckless driving case. Teen singer Taylor Swift will join her inspiration Tim McGraw on tour. Swift wrote her country hit "Tim McGraw" in honor of him and finally met him last month at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Now she'll join McGraw and his wife Faith Hill on their new Sould2Soul Tour. The young singer will perform that hit song at each performance. The tour begins today and will travel to cities throughout the U.S. A new, but slightly older rock group is making its debut on Britain's single chart. The Zimmers are a 40 member rock band. Their average age is 78. Their cover of the Who's classic song "My Generation" is number 26 on the chart this week.
